YOUTH FISHING TOURNAMENT

LOCUST SHADE PARK

JUNE 7^TH, 2008

 

Region 1 and Region 9 both hosted the Youth tournament on June 7^th at Locust Shade Park. Kenny Brown opened up the event with welcoming comments. He thanked Ron and his staff of Locust Shade Park for all of their hard work. 

 

Bill Haire gave a safety demonstration and a knot tying class.

 

Tom Hayes gave a demonstration on the different types of rods and reels showing how to use each one. 

 

Thanks guys for giving the classes.

 

Thanks to all that came and volunteered their time for this event. The kids got a big kick out of being able to have the opportunity to catch a fish. 

 

A special THANKS to John Britton & Cheryl for providing the fishing rods for the kids, also for bringing the grill and doing the cooking. 

 

Thanks to Doug Fisher (NOVA) and Joe Carbu (Chilli’s of Woodbridge) for providing the hot dogs and buns.
